Description
Rain sensor module is an easy tool for rain detection. It can be used as a switch when raindrop falls through the raining board and also for measuring rainfall intensity. A rain sensor or rain switch is a switching device activated by rainfall. Connected to 5V power supply, the LED will turn on when induction board has no rain drop, and DO output is high. it is used in electronics.
The rain sensor detects water that comes short circuiting the tape of the printed circuits. The sensor acts as a variable resistance that will change status : the resistance increases when the sensor is wet and the resistance is lower when the sensor is dry.
There are two main applications for rain sensors. The first is a water conservation device connected to an automatic irrigation system that causes the system to shut down in the event of rainfall. The second is a device used to protect the interior of an automobile from rain and to support the automatic mode of windscreen wipers.
