Description
Resistor 0.25W (1/8W) :- Resistor 0.25W is a passive two-terminal electrical component that implements electrical resistance as a circuit element.
Resistors 0.25W are common elements of electrical networks and electronic circuits and are ubiquitous in electronic equipment. Practical resistors as discrete components can be composed of various compounds and forms. Resistors are also implemented within integrated circuits.
Always read resistors from left to right. – Resistors never start with a metallic band on the left. If you have a resistor with a gold or silver band on one end, you have a 5% or 10% tolerance resistor. Position the resistor with this band on the right side and again read your resistor from left to right.
Color | Digit | Multiplier | Tolerance (%) |
---|---|---|---|
Black | 0 | 100(1) | |
Brown | 1 | 101 | 1 |
Red | 2 | 102 | 2 |
Orange | 3 | 103 | |
Yellow | 4 | 104 | |
Green | 5 | 105 | 0.5 |
Blue | 6 | 106 | 0.25 |
Violet | 7 | 107 | 0.1 |
Grey | 8 | 108 | |
White | 9 | 109 | |
Gold | 10-1 | 5 | |
Silver | 10-2 | 10 | |
(none) | 20 |
The colors brown, red, green, blue, and violet are used as tolerance codes on 5-band resistors only. All 5-band resistors use a colored tolerance band.
The blank (20%) “band” is only used with the “4-band” code (3 colored bands + a blank “band”).
